Peter Weber had poor introduction of himself but we overlooked that and did sit down with him. He spent 20 mins telling us about himself, not his real estate skills, just how great he was. He talked forever about how poor the market was at this time which we understand totally. When we asked him to come out to see our property and what he thought the value was of it he replied that he didn't have time but if by chance he was in the area he would stop in. 2 weeks later did show up. We talked about the property which is 75 hectares and has a few buildings and diverse terrain. He listened and didn't take a note and looked disinterested. We asked him to walk the property with us and see it, which would take about 1/2 hour only since he was already here but he said he didn't need to see the rest. He sent us an email a few weeks later with an estimate that had a range of $150,000 between highest and lowest and said just because a piece of property is beautiful that doesn't make it valuable. We personally would not deal with this agent or any in his office but if you do definitely talk to others before you think of listing with them. We have sold 6 properties in our lives in different areas of the country and this by far was the least professional real estate agent we have ever dealt with. When we spoke with others in the Revelstoke area about our experience all people reflected similar experiences saying that they find more and more people are not using the local, agents and selling on their own because the agents did little else besides take their commission. We listed our property ourselves, it sold, had a local lawyer do the paper work which cost us $400 and all were very happy!
Avoid... Did not sign a contract with this fellow, as nothing he said ever made sense. One week, it was a rush to list & sell; the next was to list with a low price "to be competitive in this slow-moving market". Well, which was it? You can't have it both ways, and maybe he should keep his story straight... He also took original paperwork which he did not return properly, and it has since been lost. To top it all off, he refused to replace it, when it is totally within his capacity to do so! Finally, couldn't find faxed information of a personal nature. Can't imagine how the paperwork would be handled, if indeed we had hired him and an offer had come in. Totally uncooperative, pushy and negative. Avoid at all costs.
