We were very lucky to find Chris, or rather I should say he found us. We finally took the plunge, relocating from Peterborough, Ontario to Vancouver Island. Chris phoned us, and I was immediately struck with his knowledge of the island, professionalism, and desire to know what we truly wanted in a house, and a lifestyle. While we were still in Peterborough, he even drove 50 km to film a video walkthrough for us. We ended up not wanting that particular listing , but it proved that Chris was the agent for us. We really had no idea exactly where we wanted to be on the island, but Chris, through his exceptional, caring, and determined attitude was able to help us find a location which would suit us. He took the time to get to know us, and find out (even when we weren’t sure ourselves), what would be a good fit. Moving across the country is nerve-wracking , and at times daunting. There were moments when we questioned our sanity. Chris constantly was empathetic and encouraging, reassuring us that we WOULD get a house. I will never forget his rallying cry of ‘Next!”, when a listing wasn’t suitable - a valuable house hunting lesson, but an even more invaluable life lesson. Chris knew when to push on our offers and when to hold back. This strategy worked, we now have a house! Through this experience, we became friends. We will always remember our lunches together, and our conversations, sometimes serious, but more often filled with laughter. After he firmed up our offer on our house in Sooke, Chris took us on a literal joy ride, accompanied by bouncy off-key singing, to tour the area around Sooke through to Port Renfrew. Who does that? Again it speaks of Chris’s generosity of spirit, and his genuine desire to make his clients/friends comfortable and happy.
