Prior to officially moving, we had a list of houses that we wanted to see (thinking we could get the ball rolling) and Greg scheduled a good run of open houses where my husband could have me on video chat for the ones we would both like. Having lived in the US for a number of years now, we were unaware of how quickly one could close on a house in British Columbia compared to our previous places of residence. Greg struck me as particularly thoughtful when he suggested that we continue to only tour open houses until we were ready to make a deposit, since it’s a lot of work to get a house ready for showing. Having gone through the process of selling a house ourselves, it is indeed a lot of work and stress for a homeowner! Once our whole family arrived in Vancouver, we were ready to house hunt with all of us in person. Greg was very accommodating and we drove to what seemed like the far corners of BC since we had a wide range for location. It helps that Greg is a dad himself - he was great with our kids and treated them like they had a real say in our home buying (note: they did not have any choice whatsoever). Having purchased and moved into our new house now, the process went very smoothly with Greg, whose foresight and experience was very much appreciated, for example, asking the sellers to have the house professionally cleaned prior to closing and arranging for our deposit to be split while our funds were being transferred. Greg’s referral list for tradespeople has been wonderful so far and a great way to keep in touch after such frequent communication during the purchase process. I highly recommend Greg as a realtor!
