I want to start this review by acknowledging that I’m probably not the easiest person to please. I tend to have high expectations of the people I work with, and I’m naturally quite cautious when it comes to trusting others, particularly when I’m making a major financial decision. Because of that, I was very deliberate about the interview process and spent a fair amount of time trying to find the right real estate agent before deciding who I wanted to work with.
Karen stood out almost immediately. She impressed me with her knowledge, her understanding of the fundamentals of real estate, and, perhaps most importantly, her ability to actually apply that knowledge when evaluating a property. She was also exceptionally responsive and attentive throughout the entire process. At times, she made you feel like you were her only client. That’s how consistently available and engaged she was.
As a first time home buyer, I started this process with very little understanding of what it actually takes to maintain a home, what can go wrong, or which issues are worth being concerned about versus which ones are relatively minor. Over the roughly six months I spent working with Karen, I learned an incredible amount. We looked at what was probably more than 100 homes together, and every viewing became an opportunity to learn something new. She would point out things I wouldn’t have even thought to look for, explain why certain issues mattered, and help me understand the potential costs and implications rather than simply telling me whether she liked or disliked a property.
By the time I found the home I ultimately decided to purchase, I had developed a much better understanding of what I was looking at. In fact, during the inspection, it felt like the inspection was almost an extra layer of caution rather than something I was relying on to discover problems, because Karen had already identified the vast majority of the issues the inspector ultimately pointed out. That gave me a tremendous amount of confidence in both her expertise and the value she brought to the process.
What I appreciated most, though, was that Karen never made the process feel like it was simply about getting a sale completed. She was willing to tell me when she thought a property wasn’t right, encourage me to keep looking when something didn’t meet the standard, and take the time to explain things until I actually understood them. That level of patience and genuine investment is particularly valuable when you’re buying your first home and don’t yet know what you don’t know.
All in all, Karen is extremely knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and genuinely invested in her clients. I always felt that she approached my home search with the same care and diligence she would have used if she were helping her own family find a home. Six months and more than 100 homes later, I can honestly say I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have in my corner throughout the process.
If you’re looking for a real estate agent who truly knows her stuff, takes the time to educate her clients, and approaches the search with genuine care and dedication, I would highly recommend Karen. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again.
