Was referred by a friend to Mr. Barnett and used his services to purchase 2 homes. This review is solely based on my most recent purchase. After viewing several home options provided by the realtor, that were not a fit, I located a potential property that could work. I advised the realtor and viewed the property alone. I trusted that the realtor would be knowledgeable about the propsed cost and comparables in compex. This unfortunately was not the case, unbeknownst to me at the time. The purchase was made, however, the price paid was much higher than comparable properties in the same complex. I paid $243k yet comparable prices for larger suites, in the same complex, were listed at $209. Secondly, Mr. Barnett was golfing at the time that the keys were released and thus I was unable to take occupancy, until he could be reached and the keys were provided by the lawyer instead of the realtor.

Reply:    Kim I will start off by saying I'm very sorry you feel this way. Considering 2015 was 10 years ago I still remember all points of this transaction. I find it quite odd you waited it until 2023 to post this but that's fine as I only noticed this right now.. 😳 . Kim, I'm not quite sure where you got your information from but let's go over it . You are correct, you discovered this complex. We were looking at other units in other complexes you found this home and wanted to see it, liked it, and wanted to pursue an offer. After some negotiation you achieved a purchase price at $243,000 on June 24 2015 Kim, now this is where your information is incorrect. Out of the 10 sales that competed in the year of 2015. The median sale price was 238,000.....lowest sale $215 and highest sale $255. There was never a unit listed for $209 000 in this complex ..... and the $215 000 sale happened in the 12th month of the year almost 6 months after you're purchase . It is also important to know that your unit was the third largest unit to sell in 2015. Secondly, you originally had a possession date of July 24 th. This date was amended by yourself and the sellers to July 30 June 10th. I did inform you that I had an annual golf tournament that I had to attend on the 30th and as I was a sponsor of the tournament. Due to the fact that possessions are completely out of realtors control because we have to wait for instruction from the sellers lawyers in order to turn over/release keys I suggested leaving keys in trust with your lawyer whom I still work with to collect when notified. I do recall there was complications at closing and we didn't get keys till later in the day ...unfortunate but very out of my control. I wish you luck in future endeavours in Real Estate.
