Mary sold herself hard, and fell flat completely after locking us into a contract. Pricing strategy was off because she had little to no experience in our area. She uses a booking service that we got negative feedback on - poor communication skills, and couldn't even tell people the offer date. She rarely responded to us directly in a timely manner - left us hanging on answers for days or had people we'd never been introduced to texting us instead. She left our home completely unattended for a whole week while we were away to accommodate showings. We came home to packages strewn in our front entrance, art of the wall, dead flowers and the lights no longer working in our loft. Had I known, I would have asked a neighbor to check in for us. Needless to say we didn't get the offers we should have. We did the marketing ourselves (she doesn't have a following or significant marketing channels) - we worked hard to stir up a ton of interest, even getting featured on a popular blog, only to get feedback that her lack of pressionalism and underpricing raised eyebrows, turning people off. She had people showing up at our house at times we weren't available. She uses inexperienced people to manage follow up for her, when we expected to have proper agent representation for sales discussions... I could go on and on. She has a 'team' of inexperienced people doing all booking, following up and initial selling. Not at all what she promised when she initially sold herself to us. At the end of the day, we'll sell having done 90% of the work ourselves and she is perfectly happy with that - refusing to take any ownership or accountability. Response from brokerage was 'too bad so sad'.
