My elderly parents deserved to be treated with professionalism, respect and clear communication throughout the listing of their home. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. One of the final things that really summed up the experience occurred when the listing ended. The real estate sign and lockbox were removed from my mother’s property while she was home, yet her house key was not returned to her. No one knocked on her door, called her or contacted her to arrange its return. More than three days later, she is still waiting for a key to her own home to be returned. For an elderly homeowner, a house key is not a minor detail — it is a matter of security. Communication throughout this process was a significant concern for our family, and the way the relationship concluded only reinforced those concerns. Buying or selling a home is stressful enough. When dealing with elderly clients in particular, I believe professionalism, communication and respect should be the bare minimum. Based on our family’s experience, I would not recommend Michael.
