As a buyer, I had Mike Nystedt represent me as dual representation on a property he was also selling. Mike set out a clear submission deadline for all offers. In keeping with the rules, I made sure to submit my offer prior to this deadline. The deadline approached and I was the only offer on the table. Nearly 2 hours AFTER the offer deadline, Mike announced that an additional offer was entering. The ethics of both Mike and his seller, Curtis Berkenbosch, immediately came into question as it became evident that this was a desperate last-minuite attempt to provoke a bidding war, rather than simply asking me to improve my offer. Although it was ultimately Mr. Berkenbosch's call to accept this late bloomer of an offer, Mike should have used his position to educate Mr. Berkenbosh's on maintaining a high degree of good morals and ethics when conducting himself in any real estate transition. Ultimately, this came down to the root of all evil - MONEY.
