Paul Thapar Real estate agent Rip off - Avoid this man you could be victim of fraud
I approached this man to sell my condo in Toronto using a friend referral. Paul Thapar provided me with a fake market value report of my condo and he convinced me to sell my condo $200K below its real market value because it seems he wanted to buy it back through his proxy buyer and resell it at his real market value for his own profit. I realized this scheme, that this man wanted to rip me off after I did my personal research on market value of my condo because I doubted his report and obtained a second opinion on the market value from other agents. The market value provided by Paul Thapar was $200K below other agents market values and my value. I informed Paul Thapar about my research with supported documentation, he said he made a mistake. He re-sent me a new listing contract to sign with adjusted new REAL market value I found. I refused to sign his new contract. I informed him that I no longer trust him to sell my property and I want him to sign mutual release agreement to cancel our initial contract because I believe $200K difference below the market value is large amount, it could not be a mistake from a professional agent.
It was a planned misrepresentation from Paul Thapar to abuse my ignorance and rip me off. He refused to cancel the contract and said he doesn't care about Reco if I complaint to Reco. I filed a complaint to Reco and he is now under investigation.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to Paul Thapar. Don’t let him sell or buy your property, avoid this man, you could be victim of fraud
