The sudden death of a good friend in early 2020 was what necessitated the sale of the house that we had co-owned since 1999. I was struggling with grief as well as my own physical and mental health issues – these in addition to the daily stress that the Covid-19 pandemic caused. The thought of having to clean out, prepare and sell the house was overwhelming – until I decided to have Siu Ta act as my real estate agent. I met Siu many years prior, when she approached me as I was feeding a group of homeless cats on my driveway: she was genuinely interested in, and supportive of, my small contribution to cat rescue, and she made such a strong, positive impression on me then that many years later I chose her to guide me through the process of selling, Looking back, I’m certain that was one of the best choices I’ve ever made: Siu’s confidence, constant communication and calm determination – not to mention her phenomenal organizational abilities – allowed me to relax and even enjoy the process as she oversaw and explained every detail of preparing, staging, listing, selling and closing. Also, the trades people that Siu works with are as friendly, transparent and efficient as Siu herself, so that once the individual elements were in place and the process started, it progressed quickly and seamlessly, without interruption or stress. The result: a home that sold in less than a week for well over asking, and a very grateful – and much more relaxed – seller. Looking back, I can’t imagine a real estate agent who could have possibly been better for me than Siu; and I can’t imagine a person who is facing selling their home who could possibly have a smoother, and ultimately more successful, experience than I had with her.
