I met Cholak as the listing agent for a property I purchased. He represented sellers who presented me with a falsified document about work that was supposedly done on the house, but when I contacted the contractor they confirmed the work had not been done, they had only given them an estimate - the document was altered and I was given a bad photocopy. Too long a story to go into here but I have no doubt he was aware of their deceit. Everything about the guy says sleaze. He is a shameless self-promoter, and once claimed he was Edmonton's top realtor. Hard to imagine that was true, but I can say that one of his promos was a plastic fly swatter that says "Norm Cholak swats the competition." I crossed this out and wrote "Norm Cholak attracts flies." A sense of humour helps as these characters generally get away with a lot of fly-attracting nonsense.
