We hired this realtor to sell our condo and help purchase a larger home for our growing family. We were attracted to the responsiveness and eagerness at first. Our sell/purchase was taking place near the end of the Covid rush where prices were way too high and homes were just selling themselves like an auction. We were asked to prepare to sell our condo the same way so we planned and went way out of our way to set up our home for a weekend of showings and a deal on the Monday. My newborn and wife left town for the weekend and we did not have a single showing. Our realtor was now away on vacation and we were left dealing with her partner over zoom. It was very frustrating. We felt like we were not priority because our condo was a quarter of the price of most of the homes they were selling. In the end we hired someone else who was able to sell our home quickly. On the purchase end, we hired this realtor for expertise and we got that at first but eventually we were left with a third party of there's showing us homes and again felt like less of a priority. When the time came to put in an offer on the home we loved, the advice was to go all in, spend as much as you can, and have no conditions, otherwise risk losing the deal in that market. So we did just that and got the place we wanted but we have lost over $150,000 in value in the 5 years we have been here. There was no incentive to get us a better deal as relators collect on both ends. The higher the purchase, the more commission they make. We closed and never heard from them again. We are not blaming this realtor for our mistake, it is our mistake alone. However, we wish during stressful times, better advice would have been given.
