From the very beginning, he took the time to coach us through how the buying process worked, understand what we were looking for, and help us think carefully about which neighborhoods and types of homes best matched our family’s needs and priorities. As we started looking at homes, Tom was consistently detailed, knowledgeable, and thorough. He did much more than simply arrange showings and point out the obvious. He helped us evaluate the homes carefully, talked through the tradeoffs, and made sure we understood the things that could matter both immediately and over the longer term. He was always willing to give us his opinion and advice, which we appreciated, while still making it very clear that the final decision was ours and that he would support whichever direction we chose. We never felt pushed into making a decision. Where Tom especially stood out was once we found the home we wanted to purchase. He was a very strong negotiator and worked hard on our behalf throughout the process. Because we were buying a newer build, there were a lot of small but important details to stay on top of, particularly around the inspection and work that needed to be completed before possession. Tom was extremely diligent with the follow-up, kept track of the details, and made sure the seller’s side followed through on what had been agreed to. He paid attention to the kinds of issues that could easily have been overlooked and was focused on making sure we received what we were paying for. We also really appreciated how involved he remained all the way to the end. His work did not stop once the offer was accepted. He continued helping with inspection findings, negotiations, amendments, walkthroughs, and the various last-minute issues that come with closing on a home. He was responsive, careful, and clearly invested in making sure the transaction was completed properly rather than simply getting it across the finish line. Overall, Tom gave us a lot of confidence throughout what is naturally a fairly complicated and stressful process. He combined good judgment and strong knowledge of the market with attention to detail and a willingness to advocate for us when it mattered.
