What is Kerr Street Mission?

Along with many fantastic neighbours in my Oakville community, we have organized and carry out a neighbourhood food drive for Kerr Street Mission and Oakville FareShare. Each street has a member from the community who takes the lead for collecting food that residents leave out on their front steps on the specified day. We then compile the donations and bring to the Food Banks as a collective contribution. With everyone doing just a little bit, we collect approximately 4500lbs of food on each of the four collection dates in a year. It is a great community-building initiative and we would love to see it replicated in other communities! "No individual raindrop ever considered itself responsible for the flood"
