We had such a wonderful experience working with Bob Dawe as our buyer’s agent, and we honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly. I first found Bob while searching Google Gemini for realtors who serviced the Parksville-to-Nanaimo area. We were specifically looking for someone who would treat us with the same care and attention as clients buying million-dollar homes, even though that wasn’t our budget. Bob came up at the top of every section and every list, so I reached out to him about viewing a property. When Bob asked how I had found him, I told him “Google Gemini,” and he was pretty blown away. After working with him, we can absolutely see why he was at the top of those lists. Something that really stood out to us happened before we even began working with Bob as our buyer’s agent. We had been talking to another realtor about selling our home, and we were concerned that they were undervaluing it before it even went on the market. Bob, completely out of the kindness of his heart, offered to do a comparative market analysis for us. He took the time to walk us through how he came up with his valuation and why he felt our home was worth more. He then referred us to Bryce Hanson for a second opinion, and we are so glad we listened. We ultimately sold our home for significantly more than what we had initially been told, and we sold it in just 9 days! Bob absolutely did not have to do any of that. He could have simply recommended another realtor and left it at that, but instead he went above and beyond to help us. That really told us a lot about the kind of person and realtor he is. And then Bob helped us find our new home. Throughout the buying process, Bob was absolutely top-notch. If we were interested in a property but didn’t want to make the drive right away, he would sometimes go through it himself and send us a video tour so we could get a better feel for it first. When we were viewing properties, he was always looking out for things that could potentially become costly problems for us down the road. He was knowledgeable, realistic, and honest without ever being discouraging. Most importantly, Bob never once pressured us to stretch our budget or try to buy something beyond what we were comfortable with. He respected our limits and worked within them. We never felt like we were being treated differently because we weren’t shopping in the million-dollar market. And on a personal level, Bob was just genuinely enjoyable to work with. He was personable, down-to-earth, and very easy to talk to. He made the whole process feel human rather than transactional. He was always available when we had questions and was incredibly patient with us - including having to read some of my very long emails (like this review 😂) when I probably could have been a little more concise! 😂 He never made us feel like we were bothering him. We always felt heard. Buying a home is a huge decision, and having someone you trust in your corner makes such a difference. Bob gave us that confidence throughout the entire process, and ultimately, he helped us find the home we were hoping for. We are so grateful we found him and would absolutely recommend Bob to anyone looking for a realtor who genuinely cares about his clients, regardless of their budget. He earned our trust, went above and beyond when he didn't have to, and helped make both selling our old home and finding our new one such positive experiences.
