Mr. Doig was representing the person who sold me my actual condo and made my purchase experience very unpleasant, to say the least. I feel it is my duty to make it public so others can avoid him. - Leonardo Almeida
Reply: The seller of this property failed to vacate on time due to their moving company showing up late resulting in Mr. Almedia waiting hours to gain access. I felt awful Mr. Almedia didn't have access at the time stated in the contract. I scheduled cleaners to ensure the home was tidy and I even bought Mr. Almedia a gift card for dinner for the inconvenience, even though I represented the seller. This was a one off situation to which I had no control over and I did everything in my power to mitigate the inconvenience.
Reply: The delay during moving day was just the latest of a series of problems with Mr Doig. If it was all about the delay I wouldn't seek legal advice. My place was advertised to be bigger than it is, and unfortunately there are even more issues.
Reply: Every one of my listings are professionally measured and measurements can differ from the strata plan. Mr. Almeida was provided the floor plan which was professionally measured. At no time did Mr. Almeida request to hire his own company to remeasure the property. This sale received multiple offers and Mr. Almeida won the property based on the details of his offer. I am very pleased Mr. Almeida's agent had all the required disclosure clauses in place to prevent any misunderstandings regarding unit measurements. This complaint holds no merit and I have not been contacted by the real estate board or Mr. Almedia legal council regarding this situation.
Reply: Be patient Mr Doig. I received an email from RECBC Compliance this month, stating the following: "As noted in our conversation, we are currently experiencing a high volume of complaints and are unfortunately unable to give you a timeline for when the Council will be in touch with you to discuss your concerns, but it will be as soon as can be arranged." We'll get to you in the proper time.
Reply: November 18th 2020: Update: Complaint posted September 28th 2018. No action taken by complainant, no contact by RECBC concerning this complaint.
Reply: The Real State Council of British Columbia called me last week. They apologized for the delay and explained, once again, that they are processing all complaints as quick as they can. From a RECBC email that followed this latest contact "... Based on the volume of complaints in process, and to preserve the integrity of its investigation(s), Council staff cannot provide regular updates to complainant(s) regarding their complaint(s). Council staff will contact complainant(s) for further information as required, or when a general update about disposition of the complaint is available."
