As a professional real estate investor and builder a good realtor is critical to my success. During the past 12 years my wife and I have done 4 transactions with Eric. In every case he made the purchases smooth and the sales more profitable than expected. In the spring of 2005, Valerie and I decided to sell our apartment in south Burnaby ourselves for $114,000. Our friend and Realtor, Eric Vanderhorst, suggested he could list it for $128,000, which would cover his commission and put more money in our pockets. We took his advice and he sold it for $125,000 in a few days. The next step was to buy a detached home in the Tri-Cities area. Eric took the time to show us detailed maps of each area and pointed out the pros and cons of each area and where the most investment potential would be. We chose some areas and began the search. After viewing fifteen homes, discussing the pros and cons of each, we chose an older home with a creek in the back. Due to Eric’s extensive knowledge of the area we felt confident in making an offer. The seller was uncooperative through the whole process and Eric made it a “no problem” situation. The area was in a development transition and many new homes have been built plus zoning changes have occurred while we owned this home. We sold the house last year for a tremendous profit thanks to Eric’s knowledge of the market and solving buyer issues. Eric is a seasoned, well-informed pro, and we highly recommend him.
