My wife and I engaged the Doucet team three and a half months ago to sell our home as we are now moving to another province. However, after ~16 visits we were forced to terminate our contract with the Doucet team with no conditions. Overall, the team is strictly concerned with moving volume nothing more. They have no marketing strategy aside from posting the listing on MLS and are also unwilling to have open houses or even caravan your property. They were also unwilling to provide a marketing strategy after we lowered our asking price, which further illustrates the Doucets are not interested in working for their 5% commission. Another thing that was problematic was that they are uncommunicative and overall unwilling to be apologetic for any mistakes made such as not confirming visits. I also found one member of the team extremely rude, combative, and all around unpleasant. It is also worthy to point out that in terms of sale they were never concerned with how much money would be left with in our pocket but rather only concerned with moving the property as quickly as possible at the highest price to maximize their commission. After 16 visits and a series of bumbles on their part trying to sell our home, we asked them to terminate our contract with no conditions so we could engage another realtor. Although they agreed to the terms in a phone conversation, they never provided written confirmation despite the fact that I made several requests. In addition, the Doucet team also tried to double cross us by secretly attempting to block any other realtor from engaging us in a contract until our contract was complete with the Doucet team (bare in mind that I requested the Doucets release us from our contract with no conditions and they agreed). I am only forced to speculate that the Doucets fully intended on double crossing us out of spite because we fired them. I rarely post reviews like this but our experiences with this realty team were so upsetting that I had to warn the public. If you are planning on selling a home in Gatineau, stay far away from the Doucet team. - Ryan

We looked into the Doucet team for the sale of our home. Jacques Doucet seemed very knowledgeable, at first. He gave us a suggested listing price of $499K for our home, which I thought was a little low. We interviewed two other agents who both suggested listing at $529K. We listed with one of the other agents and sold the house for $525. Had we gone with Doucet we would have lost $25-$30K!!!! I felt at the time that he purposely suggested a lower price to guarantee a quick and easy commission at MY EXPENSE. Glad I stuck with my gut feeling as I got my price and sold in about 45 days. Ok we listed our home with Jacques and his team in summer 2019. We had met with 2 other agents that were both recommending to list at a lower price. We decided to go with Jacques and his family team and we sold within 2 weeks and over asking price. This was a very smooth and easy process for us. We would recommend Team Doucet to anyone looking to sell in the Gatineau area. - Michael
