When we first met Dave he appeared knowledgeable and willing to sell my property, so we took the chance. Soon after we signed our 3 month contract the truth revealed itself. At first maybe we thought one could make a mistake even for a professional like him but as time went on we realized this was the reality of what he really was , a realtor who really does not care or do his job.
First mistake was he listed my home with inaccurate information ( bedrooms ) then omitted certain items left behind , as well as not place the key selling features of the home in the description. His photos were of horrid quality ( orange and lime colors ) and not near what my homes true colors were.
I then discovered he did not use my beautifully landscaped backyard photos but placed winter ones . I had to bring this to his attention only to be advised that my photos "were of poor pixels " . So my question was "Why did you not come out or take some of your own ??" Instead I lost weeks of poor representation of my home.
I never received any feedback from at least 30+ showings I had except for one. Which proved to me he never followed up with the realtors on the showings.
During our 3 month contract the only means he will communicate with you is by texting only. So when I advised him my attached neighbor was selling their unit , his immediate response was " we need to lower my listing $10G" . So why would I lower my price when I'm one, not competing with my neighbor, he has not even seen their unit and we were comparing apples to oranges . I felt a dialogue was more deserving in this matter.
To sort of condense this review I really felt he never had my best interest in mind. He believes certain homes will sell themselves and his continual recommendation of lowering your price will not only give him the easy commission, but as a seller you lose , and the buyer wins. He fails to realize that this is your hard earned investment and means more to you than you think.
His texting proved to be so annoying because some were sent to me in error , or he "forgot" to hit send , also some replies required were sent days later. He even made an error in the Open House date one weekend that resulted in me to be out of my home the entire weekend, Oh a promised dinner for 2 at The Keg was promised for that , and you guessed it , when contract was done not only did he forget about this promise but he was expecting us to even dine with him .
It was 3 months of agony at some of the correspondences we received through this process. At the end of our contract , the sign was still up and yes, I had to contact him about removing it. Then my key was another issue . He arranged to drop it off one evening , and YUP ! he did not show so the next day I text him and his reply was " he was busy and forgot , he was at some anniversary function at some restaurant " JUST THE WORDS ANY CLIENT WANTS TO HEAR !!!! , which was so like his behavior the entire contract time we spent with him.
You think that even after all I hell I went through he may have had a heart and placed a gift card for The Keg in the envelope with my key, who was I kidding !!
I would definitely warn and advise anyone to not use him as a realtor.

Dave Johnston's conduct and professionalism and conduct was appalling. His knowledge of the area was acceptable, but was completely overshadowed by his actions.
Because of Dave and his supervisors, I will never use Remax again, and I will certainly make my opinion known so as to hopefully prevent another woman from the same experience - Sarah Kotaska

Why do I need to edit addresses?
Occasionally clients will leave you a rating with the wrong address, or with the neighbourhood missing. To correct such problems and present your track record more accurately, we give you the ability to edit the address for all your ratings.
Will addresses be displayed on the rating?
No, ratings will only display the neighbourhood and city of each rating. We do store the street address associated with each rating. This data is kept private and may be used to verify transactions.
