Home Sale in Humber Heights-Westmount, Toronto | Sep 2026
I'm writing this review to warn future home sellers and buyers to be very careful before working with Irene Tavares (RE/MAX Professionals Inc.).
When you hire a real estate agent, you expect them to market your home actively, respond quickly, get results, and be honest. Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite: over a two-month period, there was virtually no effort to sell our property, resulting in only a single showing. During this period, the agent was unavailable for a long time because of personal issues and a vacation, so our listing didn't get the attention it needed.
Communication was a big problem. The agent often didn't answer our calls. Later, she said she generally only answers calls from numbers she knows. As a seller, that's really concerning, since potential buyers and other agents will always call from numbers she won't recognize.
Furthermore, the quality of the paperwork raises serious doubts about whether the contract was prepared by a true professional, as it was filled with careless errors and inaccuracies.
The agent's contract terms make this whole experience even worse. A non-standard clause was added to Schedule A requiring a $1,500 + HST fee. You are required to pay this fee not only if you cancel early, but even if the agent fails to sell the house, the contract naturally expires, and you decide not to sign a new agreement with her.
When we wanted to end the relationship because we weren't getting any results, both the agent and her Broker of Record insisted on this $1,500 + HST payment just to release our listing. We were forced to pay it, under protest, to get out of the contract. This was even though this same agent already made a full commission when we originally bought this property through her.
Please read every single line of the Agreement and Schedule A very carefully before working with Irene Tavares. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a truly professional, accessible, and client-focused real estate agent. - Mikhail
Irene was absolutely fantastic to work with! She found us the perfect home and skillfully negotiated the best possible deal. We were competing against multiple offers, but thanks to her expertise and dedication, she made sure we got the house. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy a home. - Ivonne and Ross

Addresses & Edit Address
How do addresses work?
Addresses determine your ranking in each city or neighbourhood.
You only get to rank in a city or neighbourhood that you have a rating in.
Why do I need to edit addresses?
Occasionally clients will leave you a rating with the wrong address, or with the neighbourhood missing. You can correct a review's address once. After that, email support.
Will addresses be displayed on the rating?
No, ratings will only display the neighbourhood and city of each rating. We do store the street address associated with each rating. This data is kept private and may be used to verify transactions.
