Would never recommend this person to anyone. In 2007, she was the real estate agent for both the buyer - me - and the seller. When I made an offer she basically told me it wasn't enough and when I made a second offer she said the same. So I asked her what offer I should make then. What she should have done was taken the amount I offered to the client and let them decide. Totally unethical!! When the house inspector found a major life threatening repair, she rushed us through the signing of the papers without listening to him. The house inspector insisted the problem must be fixed or risk someone's life and she made an amendment to the contract for repairs. If the house inspector had not insisted who knows what would have happened. He had to come back to check the repair. Not impressed with her at all. And a friend of mine also had her as a real estate agent and would never recommend her either. She only cares about the money!!! - Jo
Margaret Grant was a complete disaster for my hurband and myself. We were first-time home/condo buyers in a very competitive market in Edmonton in 2007. When we determined that we could not afford even a starter home, Margaret began showing us Condos. We soon discovered that MG knew little to nothing about Condos. When asked "Is this comparable to other units you have been in, here reply was "Well, its clean." Anyhow, she insisted that we should go $7,000 above asking price for the one we liked, only to discover that the previous owner was desperate to sell and would have accepted an even lower offer. Obviously, if you view the rings on her finger, she does pretty well for herself. A really believe that to get a realtor's license in Alberta all you need to do is sign a contact in crayon. Please use this advice wisely and do not use her- she is all about making as much commission for herself as possible and screw the homebuyer.
