Engineering was a natural career path for me, more specifically I identified in the Civil/Survey discipline as my choice. I always had a love for math, compasses, and how things simply went together. Perhaps growing up with a carpenter as a Dad and mentor pushed me a bit to discover the wonders of construction. Fortunately, as a child my upbringing afforded the opportunity to learn first hand ‘how to build’.
Fast forward a decade or two, I bring with me to the real estate industry, a solid Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) background in Bridge & Highway construction, Project management, and of course the solid family carpentry skills I grew up with. Combining an in depth understanding of building construction allows you to put your faith and trust in me as your advocate in real estate. Honestly, you’ll have to determine if the house functions well for you. Your family dynamics, needs & wants is something I just won’t get a true sense of in the short time we’ll be together…BUT I can definitely help assure you it also a “good” home with integrity.
I won’t help you alone however! I have a breadth of professionals I can rely on to facilitate in whatever the issues or hurdles may be to complete your transaction, from trades; engineers; finance; legal; and of course you’re welcomed to provide and source your own trusted resources. With my Maritime roots and nearly two decades of selling real estate on the East Coast, I maintain my unique ability to advocate for you in either Nova Scotia or Toronto. This will benefit those looking at retiring East, or investing where prices are substantially lower than the Toronto market.

I was struggling to find the perfect condo for my dad in Halifax. I met Todd and immediately felt at ease about this daunting task bestowed upon me and that he was going to find the right place for my dad. Within a few short months we closed on a condo and my dad loved his new home. Several years later my wife and I were looking to upgrade to a new home. We called Todd, of course, and within a few months we closed on our forever home. Todd not only understands the real estate market in Nova Scotia but he has an engineering and construction background that is very handy and important when looking for a forever home or investment property. He was able to point out issues and other potential problems and give us an idea on cost to fix. We also found that he is very professional and a straight shooter. Todd has numerous contacts in everything you need as a home buyer from mortgage brokers to home inspectors. He ensured we got the best deal and looked at the right places. We were house hunting for a couple of years and Todd helped us find our first home! He was always on the lookout for houses within our discussed budget and criteria, and would constantly send us new listings. He's very reliable and would schedule last minute viewings on houses my family and I liked. We trusted him because of his honest opinions on the houses we viewed together. I met Todd through a mutual friend and casually asked him to give his opinion on the value of my home. He came out and gave me the requested quote and left with no pressure to sign with him. A couple of months later, my phone rings and Todd says he has someone who may be interested in my house! Wow! The sale went through without any problems and that is when his dedication to his client really began to shine. I was like Goldilocks, this house was too big, that house was to small, this house was well...you get where I am going :) He showed me no less than 30 houses over a two month period without getting impatient or screening my calls. As I am not the handiest person with repairs, he was an excellent eye for details that I would have missed and repairs that would have been beyond the scope of my repair talents and budget. The house that I finally purchased was given a careful lookover by Todd and he guided me through the biggest purchase of my life.
