I've worked with Duncan since 2002 on a number of housing transactions - all were completed quickly and successfully. Duncan is incredibly knowledgeable about Vancouver neighbourhoods and condo properties and their relative pros and cons. Along with his approachable, "non-salesy" demeanour, this is where I've really appreciated his service. I fully recommend Duncan and have done so on several occasions. Those contacts have also had very positive experiences with him. - Stephanie Zahn
I’ve been with Duncan since 1997 having sold three and bought two places over the years. Each time I have been impressed with his service and how he has continued to evolve to keep up with technology, the latest trends, and most effective strategies. It is always comforting to watch him with other agents to know that he is both respected and liked. The last sale was truly epic and worthy of praise. Not only skillfully negotiating a three way bidding war. But when the winner got cold feet, he got a former building occupant, who was in Mexico at the time, on the phone to answer questions and close the sale. I don’t know anyone who could have either pulled this off or would have gone the extra mile! - Philip Tremblay
We've been working with Duncan since 2007. In that time, we've bought 2 properties and sold 1 with his services. Duncan has really good sense of his clientele. He has extraordinary patience, listens and adapt his suggestions and advice to meet your needs ... not push you into something you don't actually want. Frankly, that's a professional trait that not always in abundance in the competitive Vancouver market. We would recommend Duncan to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional, ethical realtor that you can develop a relationship with over multiple transactions.
We have worked with Duncan since 2011 through 3 housing transactions. He is professional, available, responsive, ethical and gives his honest opinion. He is a realtor who works hard for his clients, is not in a rush to "make a sale". He is about finding the right fit for his client needs.
Reply: Correction. My husband and I have worked with Duncan since 2001.
We are in a unique position to recommend Duncan, so if you're questioning the 5-star ratings, don't. We've done two residential sales and one buy through him. It can't work like this all the time, but he generated bidding wars for both our sales. In the first, we had the unique experience of watching 8 agents present offers and represent their clients. It was like 'realtor auditions'. At the end we knew we'd always want Duncan representing us and it reinforced how lucky we were to have selected him. He is very strategic, knowledgeable, professional and responsive in addition to being a pleasure to work with. We have received invaluable advice from him between transactions and referred him to friends who have thanked us. Highly recommended.
Makes a good first impression but after that, it's all downhill. Main character flaw: lazy. He doesn't hustle to find a home for you or go above and beyond. He uses an automated system to send new listings, which is great, but other than tha,t and making appointments, he doesn't really add much value. Not willing to put in offers less than $50K from assessment even when the home list/assessment price is out-of-whack with current reality. Also is away at least months of the year and completely unreachable during this time. You're left to deal with a junior licensed realtor who doesn't know you and whom you've never met before. Brutal.
