Jim Isherwood

Jim Isherwood is one of the Lower Mainland’s longest-serving real estate professionals, with a career spanning more than five decades. Licensed in British Columbia real estate since 1969 and Broker/Owner of Royal LePage Brookside Realty since 1982, Jim has spent decades representing buyers, sellers, investors and developers throughout Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and the surrounding Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland communities. His career includes an extensive record of industry recognition. Jim first qualified for the MLS® Medallion Club in 1980 and has achieved 30 Medallion qualifying years. Greater Vancouver REALTORS® now recognizes him as an MLS® Medallion Club Lifetime Member. Jim also repeatedly achieved President’s Club recognition, an elite level reserved for the top-performing members of the real estate board. His surviving President’s Club awards span multiple periods of his career, with his most recent President’s Club qualification occurring in 2008. His achievements extend beyond individual sales production. During Brookside Realty’s Realty World years, Realty World–Brookside was recognized as the Highest Production office in the British Columbia Region for 1995/96 and again for 1996/97. Jim was also recognized for individual production and listings leadership during this period. After Brookside joined Royal LePage, Jim continued to receive production recognition, including Royal LePage Platinum and Diamond awards, President’s Gold and the Royal LePage Lifetime Award of Excellence. These surviving awards represent only part of a career spanning more than half a century. Jim is also a member of the Greater Vancouver REALTORS® Quarter Century Club, recognizing his longstanding membership and contribution to the profession. Beyond traditional residential sales, Jim has extensive experience in commercial real estate, land assembly, development properties, rezoning and real estate investment. Having participated directly in property development, subdivisions and new-home projects, he brings practical experience with development opportunities, municipal processes and long-term property value—not simply theoretical knowledge. Over the decades, Jim and Brookside Realty have worked with developers on residential projects throughout Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, while also helping generations of local families buy and sell homes. Many client relationships have continued through multiple transactions and generations. Together with his wife and business partner, Associate Broker Nicole Isherwood, Jim continues to operate Royal LePage Brookside Realty as a family-run brokerage serving the community it has called home since 1982. The brokerage provides residential and commercial real estate services as well as residential property management. Jim’s approach remains grounded in the principles that built his career: straightforward advice, strong negotiation, detailed local knowledge and long-term relationships. More than 55 years in real estate have given him perspective through dramatically different interest-rate environments, housing cycles, development booms and market corrections. For clients buying their first home, selling a longtime family property, acquiring an investment or evaluating a development opportunity, that depth of experience provides something that cannot be learned from a course or accumulated in a few years—it comes from having worked through decades of real estate markets firsthand. Jim holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) and a marketing degree, complementing his extensive practical experience in real estate, business, development and investment.
