Let’s face it, home buying is the biggest investment that most of us will ever make. I was a first-time home buyer and this process always scared me. I decided to purchase a home in the summer of 2020. With the pandemic happening I knew that it was now or never for me to get my foot into the market. The biggest hurdle was trying to find an agent that would listen to my needs and not have their own agenda in the background. I had a negative experience during my hunt for an agent, needless to say it was a set-back. I was not familiar with Hamilton as I have lived all my life in Toronto. To assure that I played it safe, I wanted to interview three separate agents. The first two were OK but I did not feel that they could help me achieve what I wanted. I then met Reisha and her sister Leah who had excellent google and rankmyrealtor reviews. They were confident in their ability while being humble. They did not take a lot of the time selling me on my why I should choose them. They focused their attention to me and my wants. They asked me what I wanted to accomplish and assured me that they could help me. While I was making my decision Reisha and Leah would send me various listings, showing me what I could essentially have on my budget. This one simple move, sold me. As I felt it was not pushy, but enough to show that they listened to my wants which is rare. Upon working with these ladies, I found out that they have lived in the Hamilton area many years. They know the ins and outs of this area; which areas are good for future families and which area to avoid. Reisha herself has over 20 years of real estate experience, again something I would find out later into the house hunting process. Leah would show me many properties and providing me support when she would notice that I looked overwhelmed. Looking at houses can be a daunting process Given the state of the market and with people getting into a bidding war, they were both really supportive.
