In the spring of 2020, my marriage broke down, and my wife moved out, letting me know that she was prepared to force the sale of our home. Also, that she would sue, if necessary, to claim her portion of the equity in the home. I immediately attempted to value the home, via inquiring on the internet . After leaving messages with several real-estate people, Dan was the only agent that responded. We met for coffee, and Dan subsequently did some in-depth inquiries for me, regarding a ball park value of the home. I told him that I may try to buy my wife out, if the bank would co-operate. I asked him if he would he would keep me informed on the market numbers, so that I would have an idea how to proceed. For the next year, Dan called me regularly, and also forwarded me the monthly Real Estate updates from the Greater Victoria Board. I was unable to agree with a mutual buy out number with my wife, so we both acquired lawyers, and worked out a Separation Ageement . This included the sale of the home. I contacted Dan, and he immediately started the process of listing, and the subsequent sale of same. My wife requested to have a second Realestate company to represent her, so this was done. The second agent was semi-retired, and not at all up to speed with the current processes, so Dan literally did everything, from placing the lawn sign, to preparing all the necessary documentation, and computer work. He also coordinated the final show down of the offers, and the eventual sale. A fantastic man. Very professional, knowledgeable, polite, and on the ball with details. Daniel was patient for a couple of years, while we used his portal to look at properties. He contacted me every six months or so to chat about our situation and the markets in Victoria and Calgary. We changed our requirements several times in those years. Daniel never pushed. I wanted to take a minute to write a 5-STAR review for DANIEL WEISS at COLDWELL BANKER SLEGG REALTY. Our introduction to Daniel began a couple years ago, with the dream/wish/desire of my parents to retire to Vancouver Island. Daniel set us up with a web portal, updated daily, with properties that met their criteria. As the “move date” was flexible, we had time to browse. Daniel was always gracious about gathering more information, often viewing properties on our behalf and “downloading” his impressions - in direct relation to their needs. I became involved late in the search, but Daniel adapted quickly and incorporated additional features that I felt were important. Some urgency was added to the process at that point, as I was motivated to complete the move before spring. Daniel took that pivot in stride!
